5 Days Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chegaga

Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Gorges via Ouarzazate Embark on your epic Morocco Desert Adventure as your driver picks you up at 9:00 am from your Marrakech accommodation. Your journey unfolds through the High Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters, the highest road pass in Morocco.

Revel in breathtaking panoramic views of mountains and valleys as you navigate the winding road. Along the way, immerse yourself in the enchanting landscapes and visit Berber villages. Your next destination is Ouarzazate, renowned as the “Hollywood of Africa,” with a visit to Kasbah Taourirt.

The adventure continues through the Skoura palm grove and Kelaa Mgouna, the town of roses, before reaching the Dades Gorges. Enjoy an overnight stay, including dinner and breakfast, at a Boumalne Dades hotel.

Day 2: Dades Gorges to M’hamid via Sagro Mountains and Draa Valley After breakfast, your Morocco Desert Adventure leads you towards M’hamid via Nkoub, traversing the picturesque Draa Valley adorned with palm groves and Berber Sub-Saharan villages.

Stop in Tamgroute to explore the renowned Coran Library, an underground Kasbah, and a local pottery. Continue your journey to M’hamid, known as the “doorway to the Sahara Desert.” Overnight, including dinner and breakfast, awaits at Hotel Kasbah Sahara Services in M’hamid.

Day 3: M’hamid to Erg Chegaga with Camel Ride Enjoy breakfast and depart by a 4×4 vehicle, venturing through rocky desert terrain towards the sand dunes of Erg Chegaga. Savor a traditional “Thé à la mente” (mint tea) and witness a mesmerizing sunset over the dunes. Embark on a one-hour camel ride for an authentic desert experience. Your night at our Sahara Services Standard Camp in Erg Chegaga includes dinner and breakfast.

Day 4: Erg Chegaga to Tisselday via Foum Zguid, Taznakht, and Ait Benhaddou Following breakfast at the camp, continue your journey in a 4×4 vehicle, tracing the old Paris-Dakar road, crossing the Iriqui Lake, and finally reaching Foum Zguid. Opt for a lunch stop in the Berber village of Taznakht.

Next, explore Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed site dating back to the 16th century, renowned for its well-preserved Kasbahs and its role as a backdrop in Hollywood films. Your day concludes in Tisselday village, where you’ll stay at Guesthouse Irocha, including dinner and breakfast.

Day 5: Tisselday to Marrakech via High Atlas Mountains After a delightful breakfast on the sunny terrace of Guesthouse Irocha, begin your journey back to Marrakech, crossing the scenic High Atlas Mountains at an elevation of 2,260 meters. Anticipate your return to the “Red City” by early afternoon, concluding your unforgettable Morocco Desert Adventure.
